What is Academic Intelligence?

It's that part of our total intelligence that we use to solve academic problems towards attaining academic excellence, it is a PART OF OUR TOTAL INTELLIGENCE.

      I will like to let you know that it is not just a part, it is actually a bedrock🪨 and foundation to our soundness of mind and level of reasoning🧠

There is no magic to attaining academic excellence👌.

Academic excellence achieving is first of all MENTAL

Yes, I said mental... nor be craze mental ooo

nor be the one wey person go dey study like who wan mad😀


What do I mean by mental?

 _You must have decided in your mind that this is what I am aiming at and here is the WHY._ 

You must be able to attach a WHY to every of your decision in life


The moment your why is strong enough and your mental goal setting is kajad...

Forget it


You won't just be the one striving to attain academic excellence...even the academic excellence will not want to stay far away from you because you crave for it so much mentally and not just a FANTASY

WHO ARE YOU?

On a more serious note, some of us have the answers to this question but don't know how to put together in words while some don't know at all...

Not knowing at all is the beginning of distancing yourself from academic excellence🥲

You just must know who you are and what works for you✍️


 HOW DO YOU DO THAT?

You can never know without making effort or trying something out

Do you know that till today, some persons still don't know how best to study...

 Discovering yourself is knowing how fast your assimilation rate is and when your active retentive study period is?

Once you have discovered what works for you, you must begin to abide by it RELIGIOUSLY.

RELIGIOUSLY without caring about what works for others


This life is INDIVIDUALISTIC and that's why no two persons have the same DNA or MATRIC NUMBER

"dem say who nor know road suppose dey ask for road

Road wey you wan pass, person don pass am before..."

Nor be lie🤷‍♂️


So, if you kon miss road🛣️ again... na serious matter and na you do yourself like that👎

One thing I did throughout my stay on campus every semester was to always meet my seniors and interview them about all the courses...

Asking questions that would give md idea and direction of where the course and department is leading me to make e nor carry me go where ah no know 😀

I ask questions, I gather their past questions, materials and all others before the semester starts


nor be say ah dey read dem before semester start oooo


In fact, I HAVE NEVER READ BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF A SESSION 😂

I put this in UPPERCASE to justify what I initially said about knowing yourself and what works for you .

I don't read before the semesters, I know people who finish the manuals even before the first class....

But guess what, I don't panic

Even in class, if a topic is being taught and some students are flowing and understanding very fast and maybe I am struggling

I DON'T STILL PANIC because I know what works for me... I know the sacrifice I have to put and trust the fact that I'd level up

Talking about what worked for me....

After making proper findings, I began to study the trend of past questions of some courses in my department... And I was quick to discover something

Which is, there is a repetition of past questions...

Wow!

EUREKA😃


Before I move on

CRAMMING is not an academic offence

CRAMMING no be PLAGIARISM 😅

If na cramming dey work for you, my brother my sister

Carry on with FULL FORCE

One thing I want you to know is whatever you have crammed or they say you crammed today..... It will make meaning and sense to you in the nearest future when you begin to apply it


1. METHOD OF STUDYING

The number of times you repeat now depends on your level of assimilation I earlier talked about

2. METHOD OF STUDYING IS KINETIC

Kinetic here means writing while you are studying

This is CHEAT CODE TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS

You read first to store in your head temporarily , then you read the second time when you are writing during the period you recall

I always create a book for myself every semester

I call it the BOOK OF LIFE

It is always my special book every semester where I solve past questions of all the years I can ever lay my hands on before the semester runs out

3. TRYING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO VISUALIZE WHILE YOU STUDY

Relate what you read to what exists if it is possible

Note : not all you study is relatable o😅

You must be TEACHABLE

You must have great TEACHABILITY INDEX

TEACHABILITY INDEX= Willingness to learn x Willingness to Change x 100%

No matter how willing you are to learn, if your willingness to change is ZERO


4. GET YOURSELF A MENTOR

A journey is very good when you have a MAP but it's better and even fun when you have someone who has worked the path successfully before, showing you the path.

In conclusion, learn to manage your time well.


Lastly, there's this fear that I call GOOD FEAR

GOOD FEAR OF FAILURE

This pushes me somehow... There is no one that is never tensed in life at some point

Being tensed is as a result of fear to fail

BE THE BEST IN WHATEVER I DO IN LIFE, no matter how useless or small it might appear to be

Don't have the wrong motivation... Academic excellence is not about COMPETITION

-It is not about monetary reward

-It's not about scholarship


 Let there be something that drives you that is sustainable


Academic excellence will open doors for you where doors will ordinarily not open

I met the governor of Oyo state more often because I had the best result in my set

I met with the school management from the VC to other principal officers almost everytime because of academic excellence

People leave the country for further studies as a result of academic excellence
